Terminate your coax…
I initially tried the cheaper solder connectors for PL-259 and have shifted fully to the crimp type. I find them to be faster, more reliable, and more consistent.
I’m mostly using RG-58 with BNC (for HT’s and QRP setups), and RG-8X with PL-259 (for everything else).
